The Trance is very important to the shaman because it permits the shaman
to cross to the Spirit World and return.

We exist in more than the material world - we are also spirit and part of the Spirit World.
The Shaman acts as a point of contact between these two worlds.
There are levels in the World of the Spirits. At the deepest level, beyond the spirits, is Dios, God. God controls all that exists. At God's level of inner planes, there is total freedom. In trance, the Shaman is able to interact with God at this deep level.
Just outside of God's level is what we think of as the World of the Spirits. Spiritual leaders of the world's religions have contact with this Spirit World. Here exist millions of forms of energy - only God knows how many. We all share this energy only our bodies limit how we may perceive it.

Spirits are able to take any form. They may appear in our world as a tree, a chair, a human, or anything
at all. A Shaman is able to detect these spirits in whatever form they take.
The Spirit World contains opposites or polarities - the good and the bad, the strong and the weak, small and large - and so on.

Here, in the material world, our families are based upon blood connections. In the Spirit World, family connections are based upon connections of consciousness.
When we die, our physical body ceases to exist but our spirit continues on forever. We become part of the Spirit World. Until we reach perfection, Nirvana, and are able to exist with God, we must return in a bodily form to continue our development.

This bodily form need not be human. It could be the form of a being from another planet.
Only Shamans are granted the ability to retain the knowledge of their previous lives.
Outside the level of the Spirits is the level of the Extra Terrestrials. Extra Terrestrials are our Elder Brothers. They have greater intelligence and are more advanced in technology but within the world of Spirit we are equal with them. When Extra Terrestrials die, they too join the World of the Spirits.
